Agent Provocateur is taking Made In Chelsea star Kimberley Garner to court for allegedly copying one of its designs in her own swimwear collection. According to the lingerie giant, Garner’s label, Kimberley London, is selling a bikini that infringes its bestselling Mazzy swimsuit. Kimberley London’s style is available in black and retails at £85 . The Agent Provocateur suit comes in a number of colour options: black and white, pink and black and green and pink and is selling at £110. It is, admittedly, very similar, but was it original in the first place? We know we’ve seen countless similar designs on Las Vegas strippers….
“We invest significantly in product design and development and the Mazzy is our best-selling swimwear design,” said Garry Hogarth, CEO of Agent Provocateur. “We have brought this action to protect our intellectual property, our designers and our business.”
Kimberley London was founded by Garner earlier this year and currently comprises of a capsule collection of swimwear “inspired by fabulous locations around the world”. Whatever that means. The 23 year old property heiress and reality TV ‘star’ has vowed to fight the claim in court.
