Attention all emerging designers! You have only two weeks left to enter the Dorchester Collection’s annual design competition with a first prize of £25,000. The competition, started by London’s finest hoteliers in 2010, was created to find talented new emerging designers. In order to enter you should have an established design business and have operated the brand for a minimum of two years and a maximum of five years.
Applications are invited from designers working in couture, ready-to-wear and premium accessories, that are working in countries where there are Dorchester Hotels – namely, the UK, France, Italy, Switzerland and the USA.
“We’re thrilled to continue to support upcoming designers and launch the 2013 Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize with a new international format. It’s been rewarding to follow the success of previous winners and finalists, knowing that the prize has helped them to make the next step to global success and recognition”, said Christopher Cowdray, chief executive officer of Dorchester Collection.
The judging panel, which includes fashion heavy hitters Caroline Issa, Rupert Sanderson, and Stephen Jones, will make their decision on 29 October 2013 at The Dorchester, where five finalists will be asked to present their work in a live fashion show. According to a Dorchester press release, the judges will be looking for original aesthetic flair and a capability for future critical distinction and commercial success. The winner’s work must also evoke the spirit of Dorchester Collection’s iconic hotels and, therefore, project a sense of individuality, luxury, style and craftsmanship.
Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity to win a £25,000 prize fund for your brand and a one-to-one mentoring opportunity from the judges. You’ll find the application form and details of entry here!
