Cara Delevingne’s career might be in jeopardy following the publication in The Sun newspaper of the 20 year old model dropping a bag of ‘mysterious white powder’. Delevingne allegedly dropped the bag outside her London home as she struggled to find keys in her handbag. According to the photographer that took the pictures;
“She was trying to get inside her house. She said, ‘I’ve lost my keys guys, I’ve lost my keys’. She was really giggly. She found it hilarious but her friend was really edgy about it. Suddenly Cara dropped something and bent over to pick it up. Very discreetly, she just put her foot on it and then rolled her handbag across so it looked like she was just kind of bending over.”
Unfortunately for Cara, she was not quick enough. The photographer managed to snap a picture of the white powder and sold it to The Sun.
While there is nothing new or indeed surprising about a model using cocaine (how do you think they stay so thin?), getting caught is not such a good idea for career longevity. H&M are reportedly investigating the matter – Cara is employed as the face of its Divided clothing range. The retailer does not tolerate drugs (though is seemingly fine with slave labour) and dropped Kate Moss after her cocaine scandal back in 2005. While Moss quickly recovered from her scandal, things might be a bit more difficult for Delevingne who regularly models products and brands aimed at teenage girls. She is currently the cover girl on Miss Vogue, Vogue magazine’s foray into the teenage market. Other brands associated with Delevingne include Burberry and Victoria’s Secret Pink range.
