Today marks the third anniversary of Fordham Law School’s Fashion Law Institute. Founded by Professor Susan Scafidi in 2010, Fordham’s Fashion Law Institute is the world’s first Centre devoted to the law of fashion. The Institute not only provides training, education and assistance to attorneys and law students in the diverse world of fashion law, but provides designers and fashion professionals with a centralized resource for legal queries.
In celebration, the Fashion Law Institute has selected a small group of designers to showcase their collections in the tents at Lincoln Centre today at New York fashion week. And boy do we wish we were there! The talented designers include Designs by A RAY (sustainable fashion), Blaise Kavanagh (women’s sportswear in the tradition of fine craftsmanship), Cabiria (making history as the first plus size designer to ever show in the tents!), Ex Ovo (modern jewelry), PHYN (stylish surfwear), and Sievering (evening, bridal, and post-mastectomy designs). If you’re in New York today, this is the show to see and be seen at!
Wigsandgowns wish Susan and her team a big happy birthday!
