It looks like our favourite French label Lanvin is the latest victim of fast fashion copycat, Jeffrey Campbell. He may have added an ankle strap but there’s little doubt where he got the the idea for these platform wedges! Lanvin’s originals are currently on sale over at Net-a-porter, reduced from £910 to £ 546, while Campbell’s cheap pleather knock-offs are retailing at just £124 at Modcloth. There is no doubt the line between inspiration and imitation has been crossed.
Fast fashion retailers should not be allowed to profit from the designs of others. If you can’t afford the real thing, don’t buy blatant knock offs. Let’s encourage innovative, creative designers instead!
